Ayyankali was born in 1863 at Venganore in
Trivandrum district.
In 1905 he founded the Sadhujana Paripalana
Sangham, which later became Pulaya Mahasabha.
He was nominated to the Sreemoolam Prajasabha
in 1910 and remained in office for 25 years.
He died at the Age of 77 on 18 June 1941.
Gandhiji visited Ayyankali in 1934 and called him
‘Pulaya Raja’.
