Guruvayur Sathyagraha

 Aim was to enable all sections of Hindus to enter
temples.
 Sathyagraha was started on 1. November 1931.
 September 25 was earlier observed as Temple Entry
Day in Malabar.
 K. Kelappan & A.K. Gopalan were famous leaders.
 By 1928 approach roads to all temples were thrown
open to all Hindus irrespective of caste, in the whole
of Travancore.
 Temple Entry Proclamation was issued on November
12, 1936 by Sri Chitira Tirunal Balarama Varma.
 Gandhiji hailed it as “a miracle of modern times”
and “a smriti which is the people’s charter of spiritual
emancipation”.
 ‘Krishnageethi’ is the book of Manavedan
Zamudiri famous for Krishnanattom.
